This title deals with Israel's first fully designed and manufactured fighter aircraft, the Kfir (Lion cub in Hebrew), which became the symbol of Israel's aerospace industry. The early Kfirs entered service within the IAF in 1975 in two squadrons. In 1978, a better version - the Canard Kfir (known as Kfir C-2) entered service. In 1993, the newer version of the Kfir - the Advanced Kfir (known as Kfir C-7) entered the service of 144 squadrons. At that period the IAF operated six Kfir squadrons. The first started phase out of service from 1985 and the last ones finished their service in 1994. Since then, the Kfir has been operational in Ecuadorian, Colombian, and Sri Lankan air forces, as well as the US Navy and Marines for a short period. The Kfir continues to serve in private companies in the USA, a testament to its enduring legacy. The book was initially published in 2007 and deals with the service of the aircraft within the Israeli AF. It includes more than 550 images and illustrations on 80 pages. The photos cover the development of the Kfr and its operation period within the IAF. A large section of the book gives a walkaround of the aircraft and shows the differences between the types. It is a real must for Kfir and IAF fans. Read more
